The Akha Tribe live in small villages at higher elevations in the mountains of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, North East India and Yunnan Province in China. They made their way from China into Southeast Asia during the early 20th century.  The Proceeds of this purchase go to support the building of an orphanage that sponsors individual children to preserve the culture and language.
