He Ohonga-New Awakening
The Grandmothers have just completed a powerful time of prayer and unity in Sweden (with about 500 people) and in Germany with over a thousand people. We are now looking forward to the New Awakening Gathering in Aotearoa.
Please support their travels by contributing to a Grandmothers’ ticket. Through the generosity of devoted people in Germany and in Australia, we have tickets pledged for Grandmothers Flordemayo, Maria Alice and Clara. Your contributions towards a Grandmother’s ticket can help them move the unity around the world!
It is with great pleasure we announce the launch of the www.art4auction.org website, specifically set up to offer financial support to the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers.
This is a means of not only offering financial support, but also a means of expressing our love and gratitude for this Walking Prayer for the Next 7 Generations that the Grandmothers have been on since 2004.
If you have a item of beauty to contribute, just log on to the site and all the directions are there to guide you. This is a perfect time for holiday generosity as well, so consider going to the site to find unique items for your loved ones.
Currently the funds will go to Maori Grandmother Ambassador Pauline Tangiora’s Gathering in Aotearoa (New Zealand). In February, 2014 the proceeds will go to support the 13th Council in the Black Hills of South Dakota, September 2014, in honor of Oglala Lakota Grandmother Rita Long Visitor Holy Dance.
We are deeply grateful and thank you for your love, consideration and time as we continue to support the miracle the Grandmothers are Walking for the Next 7 Generations.

Oh what an amazing ceremony Calling all Nations: Of Water and Belonging in California (organized by Center of Sacred Studies and through the vision of Susan Coleman) when all the nations joined together in remembrance and healing for our mother waters, earth and humanity. An eagle blessed the evening filled by hundreds with a flight of three circles around the medicine wheel! Aho, Namaste, Ashe. Answer the call: Be part of WaterSongline’s Igniting the LOVE Ceremonies, and the power of Mother Earth’s WaterSongline ability to join the hands and hearts of all:International Faith Leaders, World Leaders, Wisdom Keepers, and individuals across faiths, lands, cultures, languages, genders and ages for the healing of the Mother Waters, Earth, Humanity, and the next Seven Generations.
Opening the Door of A New Era
Dear Friends and Relatives,
Darlene and I (Jyoti) wanted to take a moment with each and every one of you to recognize the beautiful awareness that’s walking with us right now. In our work around the world, and our involvement in so many projects and amazing people that are leading initiatives for the earth, we have experienced a deeply courageous, humble and devoted group of people dedicated to the next 7 generations and the caretaking of Mother Earth. Paola’s fifth photographic book documents a new, unheralded, international women’s movement: activist grandmothers who are tackling intractable issues: disease, poverty, environmental degradation and injustice—to make the world a better place for grandchildren everywhere.
Today’s grandmothers, worldwide, are younger, better educated, and healthier than they have ever been. Many, having been students in the 1960’s, they know they can catalyze change—because they did.
Paola says on her website (www.globalgrandmotherpower.com): “It took me four years to interview and photograph 17 grandmother groups [including our 13 Grandmothers] in 15 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The images and the overviews in the book are mine, but 120 grandmothers’ stories are told in their own words. They will inspire you; they certainly inspire me! The women describe their troubles, triumphs, dreams, intentions and accomplishments—and reveal their courage, commitment and power.
One hundred percent of the author royalties from GRANDMOTHER POWER will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign, which benefits grandmothers in Sub-Saharan Africa who are raising AIDS orphans. When you buy the book, you will be helping them, too.”
