Thanks to all the families that traveled to Arizona and shared in the presence of the sacred mountains at Apache Springs Ranch. We also thank the Ranch owner Frank and TJ, and Pam Contag for her cooking and our collaborating organizations; The Path with Grandmother Flordemayo and Sacred Wind Earth Teachings with Juan and Melinda Villarreal.
At the Burton Homestead Scot Woodland lead the Fox Walkers Spring Break in an epic week of skills and fun with “Earthbound Skills” Instructors Matthew and Jania, as well as the Fox Walker Crew of; Jennifer Cantrell, Grayson Coney and Starlight.
4EEE also Thanks Linda Lane-Bortell of the Christ Presbyterian Church for supporting our 8th year of Nature Camp with youth from Marin County.
Over the years we had requests of adults asking for programs and we have two courses starting this spring.
Native American Approach to Land Management with Grayson Coney and Rick Berry, starting April 25th, 2015.
This is the first time we have offered a course like this at the Burton Homestead / Pata Panaka Village site. Grayson Coney, Cultural Director with the Tsi-Akim Maidu has years of experience in direct land stewardship. Burton Homestead is an excellent example of how we can heal land that has been logged, mined, and over grazed by domestic livestock. Come join us in this doctoring of the land and bring back a balanced relationship of humans living with the land.
Earth Skills Field Series is a collaboration with HAALo herbalists and 4EEE. Starting May 30, 2015.
This series is a mixture of wilderness survival skills and herbal wild-crafting skills. Learn to make a shelter and create pest and bug remedies, learn to make friction fire and burn salves, learn to make baskets and collect wild medicinal herbs, learn how to create a clay vessel and herbal honey mixtures, and learn about nature awareness and plant spirit communication.
